| notes |
Thomas wrote Macnamara's Band162 with John Stanford (words), after his wife Ethel's maiden name. It was published in 1916 for the first time, (actually in 1914 I now find!) and later appeared in a film:44 .
He is reputed to have damaged the back of his violin with a brick, so that, even if he was starving, he couldn't pawn it!
He lived at 15 Thornton Road, Barnett when he married Ethel Macnamara.
He left no will.
