| notes |
He was a Coal Merchant-Agent in 1871 when he lived at 8 Ivy Street, Everton. His office was at 193 Crown Street, Everton.170
He was an "assistant teacher" in 1861, presumably at the boy's academy run by his father on High Street Runcorn.167
Other jobs he (may have!) had included policeman, music hall manager, caretaker4. In 1901 he was a "Life Insurance Comprp Agent".281 He was an "estate agent's rent collector" when he died.217
When living at the "Lamb & Flag Tavern, 73 High Street", Hackney, Ernest (aged 20 then), and Norah (aged ?) are not there. Presumably they have left home. Ernest could have already joined the army. Florence is married, and Augustus is also reputed to have joined up.281 Commercial traveller in 1911.393 |
